    Oscar Aban aka "Shy Boy"
  • Member of the doo wop group, "Bad Collections"     during the late 1970's
  • Fronted the blues band, Prince Oscar and the Soul     Prophets, in Sacramento during the mid '80's
  • Plays guitar, keyboards, trumpet and radio(probably     his best instrument)
  • Arranges some of O.P.'s music
  • Appeared and sang in "Vanishing Heroes", an award     winning documentary about our manongs who worked     in the labor camps
  • Greatly influenced by his singin', guitar playin' father     whose band "Romeo and his Manila Men" played the     dance halls throughout the Central Valley
  • Played all 5 positions for the Stockton Fils/Bruins     basketball team in the '70's - ("I'm a legend in my     own mind")
  • Addicted to golf - ("Swing hard, you just might hit it!"     and, "Always play with clean balls")
  • Graduated from Edison High, Class of 1972
  • Earned his B.S. in Marketing from California State     University, Sacramento 1976
  • Currently a Distribution Center Circulation Manager     for The Sacramento Bee (19 years)

  • A member of the Sing Inspirational Team at Trinity     Prsbyterian Church

  • Sang for former President Ronald Reagan. Bob Hope,     Queen Elizabeth, and Heads of State
  • Sang the National Anthem for Oakland Athletics,     Raiders, San Francisco Giants, 49ers, Padres, and     the Angels
  • Graduated from Edison High Class of 1972
  • Plays guitar, piano, violin, and various percussion     instruments
  • Directed / performed in a Rock Band in Saudi Arabia     during Desert Storm
  • Member of the band called "California" and "Galaxy"     that played throughout Southern California
  • Air Force-Directed Pop-Jazz band the last 13 years,     and played in the Concert Band, Marching Band     (Drum Major and percussionist)
  • Played basketball with Bruins and the Fils (Filipino     Teams), plays golf (4 Hole-In-One)
  • Attended University of the Pacific with the     emphasis on the Violin
  • Graduated from Loma Linda University with a     Bachelors of Music degree
